Terms

The terms for using Athren while it is invite only. Short, because the product is early and the honest document is the one that matches it.

The service
Athren connects the tools a team already uses, reads what they grant, answers from what it reads and proposes work. Writes to a connected system execute only under a grant and an approval. The product is invite only: an account needs an invited address.
Your account
You sign in with an email address and password, or through Google or GitHub. Keep your credentials to yourself, and tell us if you believe your account is being used by someone else. What is done with your access is your responsibility.
What you connect
Connect only sources you have the right to connect. The scopes are shown on each provider’s consent screen before anything is read, and you can revoke access at the provider at any time, which stops reads. Your use of a connected provider stays governed by that provider’s own terms.
Writes
A connection starts with no write grant. Under an ask grant, a write is proposed in full and executes only once a person approves it. A trusted grant is a standing approval: writes on it do not stop for a per-write decision, and granting it is itself a recorded decision. Every executed write leaves a hash-linked entry in the audit chain.
Availability
This is pilot software. It is provided as is, without an availability commitment, and deploys cause brief gaps. If a written agreement between us and your company says otherwise, that agreement wins.
Acceptable use
Do not use the product to break the law or someone else’s rights, do not probe or overload it, and do not connect a source to read data you are not entitled to.
Ending
You can stop at any time and ask for erasure, which the privacy page describes. We can suspend an account that breaks these terms or that was invited in error.

What this page does not say yet

Governing law, venue and the formal limitation of liability are being settled with counsel, together with the contracting entity behind the working name. Until they are settled they are not stated here, and where a pilot has its own written agreement, that agreement wins.
