Fit before features
- Is this customer onboarding automation?
- No. If onboarding means forms, documents, folders and account activation, use checklist automation. Athren handles the work between signed and first value: promises, dependencies, blockers, scope changes and cross-team coordination.
- Which teams is this for?
- Implementation-heavy B2B teams where every customer is different: consultancies, CRM and ERP partners, managed IT, technical services and SaaS professional-services teams.
- Notion AI and Copilot already do this. Why add another one?
- Run one real task end to end in both. This answers from your live tools and then does the work: drafts the reply, waits for a person, sends it, records what it sent.
- Why would we give an agent permission to send things on our behalf?
- You would not, and you should not start there. A connection can be read-only, and stay read-only until it has earned more. A write is proposed in full first, and nothing goes out until a person approves it.
- What runs today, and what is still roadmap?
- No list here: a list you cannot check is worth nothing. Name the one you care about and we will run it in front of you. If a demo shows you something, it is running.
What your reviewer asks
- Our IT department will want a DPA, a subprocessor list and a deletion procedure. Do those exist?
- Not yet. Security and control names all three and says none of them is written.
- Can you prove deletion?
- Ask for erasure and the same audit chain records what was held and what was removed. Each entry signs the one before it, so an edit after the fact breaks the chain.
When it goes wrong
- What happens when it does not know the answer?
- It stops and says so. A run that cannot find what it needs comes back with the question rather than a guess, and the step waits. Visibly stuck beats quietly wrong.
- Can something it did be undone?
- Some cannot. A sent email is sent, a paid invoice is paid, and those are the ones worth keeping behind an approval. Reversing a write from the run that made it is not built yet.
Price and term
- What does it cost, and what do we commit to?
- Pilots are priced, run on a 60-day term, and cancel at any time. One baseline and one target are written in: time to first value, delivery capacity, scope leakage or coordination time. If the chosen delivery loop does not move it, there is nothing to convert.
