Customs value calculator

The customs value is the base for duty and import VAT. Enter the invoice price and the transport costs: the calculator adds freight and insurance to the EU border and leaves out transport inside the EU, as Articles 70 to 72 of the Union Customs Code do.

Add them when the price does not include them (EXW, FCA, FOB, or CFR without insurance). Leave 0 for CIF or CIP.
Transport after the EU border. It stays out of the customs value when it is shown separately, and it enters the VAT base.

Amounts in euro; customs converts other currencies at its own monthly rate. The result is an estimate for planning. The declaration decides.

EU import duty calculator

Athren proposes the code and checks value and origin from your own invoice and transport documents. Book a call

How it is calculated

  1. 1

Start from the price actually paid or payable for the goods, the transaction value (Union Customs Code, Article 70).

  2. 2

Add the cost of transport, insurance and loading up to the place where the goods enter the EU when the price does not include it: EXW, FCA, FOB, or CFR without insurance (Article 71(1)(e)).

  3. 3

Leave out transport after the goods enter the EU when the price includes it and the invoice shows it separately, as with a DAP or DDP price (Article 72(a)).

Athren does this from the documents

Athren reads the shipment email with the invoice, the packing list and the transport document, proposes a code for every clear invoice line and asks one question where the invoice is not enough. Your declarant checks what is open and files the declaration. Athren files nothing.
