How it is calculated
- 1
Import VAT base = customs value + import duty and other charges due on import + transport and other costs up to the first place of destination in the country of import (VAT Directive, Articles 85 and 86).
- 2
Import VAT = base × the rate of the country of import. The calculator fills in the standard rate and names its source; enter a reduced rate where the goods carry one.
- 3
An anti-dumping duty is part of the base too. Where TARIC lists one for the code and origin, the calculator says so but does not add it: its rate depends on the ten-digit code and often on the producer.
Athren does this from the documents
Athren reads the shipment email with the invoice, the packing list and the transport document, proposes a code for every clear invoice line and asks one question where the invoice is not enough. Your declarant checks what is open and files the declaration. Athren files nothing.
